WRW have been appointed to construct new student residences at City Road, Cardiff for Modra Investments.
The scheme will provide 152 student bedrooms in a mixture of studio and flats to be completed for occupation in 2017. The design and build project will be undertaken in collaboration with HMA Architects, CB3 Consult and McCann and Partners, with Faithful + Gould acting as Employer's Agent.
Granted full planning permission, the site is currently used as a car park and will be vacated to make way for this new development. The proposed design includes a six storey building with 'port hole' style windows on the outside and a sinusoidal profiled metal cladding giving a wavy, textured finish.
Business Development Director Jon Williams said: "We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting development in Cardiff City Centre. The scheme will enhance our student accommodation portfolio and develop our experience and knowledge in this sector".
