Local Councillors and key stage 2 pupils visited Ysgol Ffwrnes on Tuesday. The Councillors were given a guided tour of the facility and children got very hands-on in some eco friendly activities.

Councillor Leader Kevin Madge, Educational Board Member Councillor Keith Davies, Local Councillor Tegwen Devichand and Head Teacher Catherine Lloyd-Jenkins attended site to see progress of the new School. All were very pleased with the progress to date and enjoyed seeing the children getting involved in some carpentry workshops.

The children from the Eco Council got to make and assemble insect hides which will eventually be put up in the woodland area of the new School. They also got the chance to choose locations for bird and bat boxes to be put up once the building is complete.

The children thoroughly enjoyed getting involved in the activities and have been given some projects to take back to school and complete in time for the completion of their new School.

The children will re-visit site and get involved in fixing the insect hides, bird and bat boxes in the wildlife area of the new School.
