Getting to the quarter finals was a decent achievement for Team WRW who entered 8 players into a Tag Rugby festival organised by Cardiff Blues.

The event took place at Cardiff Arms Park on Thursday and was organised for Sponsors of the Cardiff Blues with a total of 24 teams taking part.  WRW took a team of 8 to the event and also some supporters to cheer them on!

Team Manager and WRW BIM Graduate Lucy Stephens pulled together the team from WRW's employees and relatives to make up the six player and two sub squad. WRW Quantity Surveyor Wayne Williams was appointed Team Captain after a strong showing in training and led Stuart Brown, Rori Williams, Andrew Harris, Sean Craig, Matthew Perrins, Robin Davies and Richard Pearce to a respectable Quarter Final run.

Playing some champagne rugby, the team won their group by beating Cardiff Airport and Cardiff Blues Team 1.  Team WRW were then put through to the quarter finals where they faced the winners of pool 2, Cardiff Blues Team 2.

Unfortunately their winning streak came to an end when Cardiff Blues 2 snuck home and won the game by 6 points to 5. Not a bad effort considering the competition!

The evening was enjoyed by everyone including the supporters and some well-known names were also in attendance to support the event including; former Wales and Cardiff Blues players Tom Shanklin and Rhys Williams, Welsh TV Presenter Gethin Jones and Ben Warburton brother of Wales and Lions captain Sam.
